Barcelona Adventure

My family has always been a matriarchy. A trait that I have gotten strength and inspiration from for as long as I can remember. The women in my life have valued art, independence, knowledge and acceptance, and they’ve shared that through the generations. My mom always made travel a priority in both my sister’s and my lives. She taught us to explore the world with open eyes and a curious appreciation for seeing the beauty in what is different.

Recently my sister moved to Barcelona for a semester of study. So naturally, my mom and I bought our tickets, hopped on a flight and dove right in to her Spanish adventure.

Barcelona is truly a place of magic. The ancient streets bustle with the hum of a metropolitan city – yet, somehow it maintains a neighborhood-like atmosphere. Cafe’s are filled with young couples, old men, students and artists, mother’s and travelers… The city seems to live effortlessly in a state of summer romance, with sunshine pouring through narrow streets and bouncing off stained glass and stone. Coffee flows endlessly and the streets are filled with friends and families sipping wine and eating small treats.

It’s impossible to truly capture the magic of this place, but of course, I had to document. Here are some of my favorite moments from the trip. The next post will be all about Gaudi and his insane brilliance, so get ready ;)

Enjoy, and visit Barcelona whenever you can!
