"Heaven Help Us All" - SMASH Music Video
From our homes to yours. This music video was created for SMASH's virtual fundraiser concert. SMASH provides free and low-cost health care to Seattle musicians who need it. Typically SMASH hosts an annual in-person concert to raise funds, but in a pandemic-defined year where we all had to stay home, SMASH brought the concert to its community. With the weight of this year resting heavily upon us all, SMASH sought to bring the music community together while putting a special focus on providing artists access to mental healthcare.
I was one of eight directors that was asked to create a custom music videos for SMASH’s fundraiser, alongside the production company All is Well. I collaborated with three incredible bands including, The Head and the Heart, Allen Stone and Whitney Mongé in creating this film. We shot the piece almost entirely virtually, through a combination of video chats, screenshots, and virtual capture. The project ended up being a vehicle for connection, creativity, and community in a time that was otherwise marked by isolation and feelings of loneliness.
Together, we were able to raise over 142k for Seattle musicians.
