Old Friends, New City

One of the best parts of moving to a new city is when friends come to visit. We’ve been in Seattle for about seven months now (can’t even believe how time flies!) and we finally had our first house guests! And not just any guests – two of our closest friends from New York.

Joe is a musician. Through and through. He and Steven played in a band together back in Brooklyn, and since our departure, Joe has embarked upon his own solo career as the 80’s goth pop band, Cherry Coals. Kristina is a buyer at Food52 and always seems to be able to spot trends before they’ve hit. From boutique craftsmanship to imported home goods, she has the eye for design and just about the best personal style. Needless to say, we all get along way too well and seem to loose track of time all too easily.

We spent the weekend taking Joe and Kristina to all of our favorite spots. Showing them a peek into the new life we’ve built here and the world we live in out west. From hikes through Snoqualmie Pass, to film festivals, to wandering around Pike Place Market, we paraded them through our new stomping grounds –  in a not so discrete attempt to convince them to move here. (cough… still trying… cough).

Until the next visit!
